This coyote was spotted at the West 11th Street Park on Shelterwood & West 11th today. Dr. Lorraine Cherry says it appears to be a young female. They apparently will come out during the day because squirrel activity is high. While coyotes pose little threat to humans Dr. Cherry cautioned park visitors to keep their dogs on a leash as they will attack dogs that are running loose. She also provided two links (below) that are very informative about what to do if you encounter one.
