Registration is Now Open!

This year’s event will honor the memory of Dr. Lorraine Cherry, our Timbergove neighbor who worked so hard to save West 11th Street Park. In lieu of a big post-race party, we are suggesting that kids (and adults too!) dress up as woodland creatures for the fun run as part of our tribute to Dr. Cherry. You can bring your own costume from home, or you can put something together at one of the craft tables that will be set up before the race.

P R E S E N T E D ~ B Y:

The first goal of the Run the Grove 5K is to fund the revitalization of the common areas of Timbergrove through the City of Houston’s Adopt an Esplanade Program. Beautiful, well maintained public spaces reflect commmunity pride, enhance the urban environment, and support rising property values. Working together to bring this project to fruition is a win-win for everyone!

Our second goal is to support trail maintenance and preservation efforts at West 11th Street Park, a true inner-city gem. This year our contribution will be dedicated in memory of  Lorraine Cherry, who poured her heart and soul into the park’s development and growth. Designated as a wilderness area, interpretive trails guide you through an area dedicated to native Texas trees and plants. Because TMNA wants to be instrumental in making the park more accessible, we are pledging to contribute generously to this 20.2 acre park.

About Timbergrove:

Timbergrove Manor Neighborhood Association (TMNA) was organized by concerned property owners over 30 years ago to represent the needs and interests of Timbergrove Manor. We conduct numerous beautification and cleanup projects, enforce deed restrictions, sponsor seasonal neighborhood activities and actively participate in National Night Out and the CIty of Houston’s Super Neighborhood Program. With a diverse mixture of first time home buyers and original homeowners, Timbergrove offers a small-town community feel that is rare in a large city.
